Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) also known as Tapping is a deceptively simple technique that I teach to clients so they can use this whenever they feel necessary, for the rest of their life.
I strongly believe in empowering clients and EFT is a great system that works by tapping on the acupressure points around your head and neck, it can be done anytime, any place, especially as it can take as little as 5 to 10 minutes to have a positive impact.
EFT can be used for emotional and physical well being and is extremely effective for pain management. Whilst the technique is simple it is important that the wording used alongside the action is framed in an open and positive manner. This is something we will discuss in more detail in our session
For example I have worked with a number of amputees regarding the pain that they still feel within their missing limb and also any other related pain they have due to related injuries. One client I worked with had lost his leg in a car accident, which resulted in him sustaining burns and other injuries as well. When we started working together he was on a cocktail of drugs for the pain, which was obviously under medical supervision. Whilst he initially came to me to deal with the emotional impact of this on his life we also worked on pain management.
He found EFT extremely useful, especially when he had an hour or more until his next pain killers were due to be taken. EFT helped to ease the pain for him, it enabled him to continue with his day to day routine and he also found it very relaxing if he was woken by pain during the night. The routine of doing the EFT, the words and actions all helped him to reach a relaxed state and in most cases return to sleep.
Thank you for reading this and remember nothing has to be the way it’s always been.
